Walt Disney World

Surely Walt Disney World is the ultimate destination for families travelling with kids.  There are endless fun things to do with all ages. With so many theme parks, rides and shows, you and your little ones will need to come back time and time again to cover them all. To top it all, the many restaurants and shopping centers add to the fun, making it a complete package in itself.

There are four theme parks within Walt Disney World, the most iconic of which is Magic Kingdom the highlight of which is the Disney castle at the end of Main Street USA.  There is also the nature themed park, Animal Kingdom where you can take a safari or visit Pandora, the home of Avatar.  If you want lights, camera and action head over to Hollywood Studios which is also home to everything Star Wars related.  Finally, there is Epcot, where you can travel around the world learning about different cultures (and sampling their food!).  All of the theme parks have amazing rides and shows for young and old alike.

As well as the four theme parks, there are two water parks.  There is the snow themed Blizzard Beach and the tropical Typhoon Lagoon.  With pools, slides and a lazy river, they make a great day out as an alternative to the theme parks – but I wouldn’t call them relaxing!

The Kitty Beautiful

360 State Ln, Orlando, FL 32801

A trip to The Kitty Beautiful is a unique idea for cat lovers!

“On one side, our cat cafe is just a regular place to get sandwiches, soups and snacks, coffees, teas, handcrafted sodas, kombucha, and beer and wine. It’s a place to bring your laptop and use free Wi-Fi while you enjoy a good pick me up. Order a drink from our friendly purristas.

Or a place to unwind during a busy day. But the other side of a cat cafe is that it is an attraction where cats can be watched and played with. Patrons pay a small cover fee and go into a separate room to play with and hang out with a bunch of free roaming, fully adoptable cats. The world’s first cat cafe opened in Taiwan in 1998. A few years later, they started to open in Japan, which is where the concept took off. The concept spread to Europe and then to the United States in 2014. Cat cafes in the United States differ from those in many other countries with their focus on adoptions.

So you can come down to a cat cafe, grab lunch or a snack, get a coffee, go play with cats, and if you fall in love, adopt them and take them home.”

The center runs special, limited-run exhibitions, so be sure to visit their website to see what new collections will be on display during your visit!

“The Orange County Regional History Center’s story begins at the historic heart of the community and is entwined with the county’s series of courthouses – most of which occupied the spot next to the History Center that’s now Heritage Square park.

From Heritage Square, Orlando’s city limits were platted in 1857. Florida was wild frontier: Razorback hogs rubbed their backs against wooden courthouse steps. But as the city and county grew, a grand brownstone courthouse rose in 1892. In 1927, a neoclassical revival building – now the History Center’s home — was added and became the main courthouse.”
